A Community for a New Generation of Global Travellers to Unearth the Uncommon
Mindful Luxury, Conservation, Empowering Local Communities

OMAN AND KENYA LAUNCHING IN 2026

Discover Collection Ras Amud, Musandam Peninsula, Oman

Discover Collection is a new private Membership community designed for the next generation of curious travellers who explore responsibly and give back to the places they visit. Founded by legendary global hotelier Bernhard Bohnenberger (BB), Discover Collection is resetting the boundaries of luxury hospitality, reimagining how tourism can serve as a genuine force for good.

“High-end hospitality can be a driver of environmental integrity, conservation and cultural preservation,” says BB. “Tourism must transcend traditional sustainability and move toward regenerative models that create lasting benefits for both people and the planet. Sustaining destinations is no longer about minimising harm; it’s about creating net-positive impact.”

A collection of inspiring destinations, from tented camps and wilderness resorts to lodges and historic châteaux, offers Members tailor-made adventures led by local experts, each designed to create meaningful connections and lasting impact through the Discover Collection Foundation. Every journey celebrates the spirit of place while helping to preserve the ecosystems, habitats and cultural identities that make it unique.

The first of a dozen planned Discover Collection properties will open in September 2026 in Ras Amud, Oman. The 32-villa retreat on the Musandam Peninsula overlooks the Hajar Mountains and the Sea of Oman. In December 2026, Discover Collection Lemomo in Kenya will open, offering sensational views of Mount Kilimanjaro, as well as immersive experiences with Maasai culture and the wildlife of Amboseli National Park.

Future destinations include Ireland, Albania, Botswana, Mexico, and Bhutan. Across every location, Members can expect extraordinary service, exquisite dining, holistic wellness and meaningful connection to local landscapes and traditions.

THE DISCOVER COLLECTION FOUNDATION

The Discover Collection Foundation serves as the philanthropic heart of the brand, channeling resources from the company, partners, Members, and guests into education, opportunity, conservation, and regeneration within each destination.

Impact is woven into every journey, from locally sourced food and renewable energy to immersive conservation and cultural programmes. Members receive clear communication on how their contributions (through membership fees or donations) support initiatives such as reef restoration in Oman or wildlife protection in Africa. Transparent reporting shows measurable results, so every Member understands the legacy they are helping to create.

Through both a Global Foundation and Local Impact Funds, Discover Collection is pioneering a new standard for regenerative travel. Its three interconnected pillars - Conservation & Regeneration, Community & Culture, and Education & Opportunity - are all grounded in the principle of net positive impact.

The Foundation goes beyond giving back by creating self-propelling models that grow and sustain impact over time - models that honour the spirit of place, shaped by each destination’s land, people and culture. Our mission is to leave places better for nature, communities and future generations in ways that are consistent, transparent and lasting.

NOTES TO EDITORS

What is Discover Collection?

Discover Collection is a club comprising a collection of unique global destinations. Members are invited to experience different environments around the world, whether it’s Oman, Kenya, Switzerland, Ireland, France, Mexico, or elsewhere. Constantly searching for unique locations, Discover Collection focuses on slow and mindful travel, as well as offering Members the opportunity to integrate and embrace the culture and community they visit.

Who is behind Discover Collection?

Bernhard Bohnenberger (BB) is the Founder and CEO. He is supported by a very talented team drawn together from all over the world. This includes heads of Membership, the head of the Foundation, the head of operations, head of Wellbeing and all the sales and marketing team plus a marine biologist and our F&B specialist.

How is it different from existing luxury hospitality brands?

Discover Collection is not a typical Hotel and Resort Management Company. It is building a
global community of likeminded people who want to ‘unearth the uncommon,’ by exploring unique, breathtaking and special places throughout the world. The team chooses very carefully who they work with and each property will be physically different, offering a deep connection to culture, the natural environment and the destination. A very bespoke and personalised service is offered, as all of the properties will be relatively small.

The brand philosophy is to minimise our footprint on the planet and encourage the Discover Collection Members to do the same. The brand values are firmly rooted in trust and commitment to the future of the planet and there is a powerful vision of using conservation and impact as a force for good.

Tell us about the launch properties and timeline for expansion?

The first two properties will open in Oman and Kenya in the last quarter of next year, with reservations opening for these properties in February next year. They are Discover Collection Ras Amud in the Musandam Peninsula in Oman and Discover Collection Lemomo near Amboseli National Park in Kenya. These will be followed by Discover Collection Château de Pommard in Burgundy in Q3 2027 and Discover Collection Catoche on Holbox Island, at the top of the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico, and Discover Collection Il Ngwesi in Kenya, both in Quarter 4, 2027. Plus we have many more properties that are in the pipeline including in Bhutan, Greece, Albania, Zambia and Botswana.
