The European Nature Trust Launches 2027 Coexistence Adventures Spotlighting Europe's Great Wildlife Comeback
Travellers invited inside the rarely told conservation stories driving Europe's wildlife recovery

Across Europe, a quiet conservation success story is unfolding. Landscapes once marked by ecological decline are seeing the return of bears, wolves, lynx, bison and other iconic wildlife — thanks to decades of conservation, science and collaboration with local communities. Now The European Nature Trust (TENT) is inviting travellers to step inside those stories through its 2027 Coexistence Adventures.
Developed with leading conservation organisations, ecologists and expert wildlife guides, these small-group, impact-driven journeys offer something beyond a conventional wildlife holiday: access to the people doing the work, the landscapes being restored and the communities learning to live alongside recovering species. Crucially, 50% of the cost of every adventure is allocated by TENT to the conservation partner delivering conservation work on the ground.
The stories are the adventure
The programme offers a chance to experience positive stories from some of Europe’s least-told environmental successes. Guests of the Coexistence Adventures can accompany field biologists monitoring Iberian lynx; meet conservationists working to foster coexistence between people and brown bears in northern Spain; track wolves through the snow in Italy; or explore Romania’s Făgăraș Mountains with teams working towards the creation of a new national park.
These are stories with movement, drama and human connection: a species brought back from the brink; predators reclaiming historic ranges; communities adapting to the presence of wildlife; and conservationists testing whether tourism can become a practical, long-term funding mechanism for nature recovery. Each journey also connects wildlife with local food, culture and traditional land management, showing that thriving nature and thriving communities can be part of the same story.
Why this matters now
The story of Europe’s wildlife is too often framed through loss. Coexistence Adventures offers another narrative: recovery, possibility and the people making it happen. The programme gives travellers a direct role in that story while generating practical support for conservation partners. In its first year, Coexistence Adventures raised more than £100,000 for conservation. Each trip aims to yield £15–25,000 for conservation projects.
