Volcanoes Safaris Partnership Trust launches Chimpanzee Monitoring Project in partnership with Uganda Wildlife Authority at Kyambura Gorge, Uganda

Volcanoes Safaris Partnership Trust (VSPT) announces the launch of the Kyambura Chimpanzee Monitoring Project, based at the VSPT Research Centre, Kyambura Gorge Lodge, in Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda. In partnership with the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA), the project will establish the first permanent, science-based monitoring programme for the isolated group of chimpanzees in Kyambura Gorge.

Volcanoes Safaris Launches Two New Wildlife Safaris in Uganda as Direct London Flights Launch

Volcanoes Safaris, the pioneer of Great ape ecotourism in Uganda and Rwanda, has launched two specialist wildlife safaris: the new 7-night Uganda Chimpanzee Safari to Kibale and Kyambura Gorge, two iconic chimp sites in Africa, and a Big Cat Photography Safari to Murchison Falls and Queen Elizabeth National Park with wildlife filmmaker Dr Alexander Braczkowski.

2025 marks an important landmark in mountain gorilla conservation: it is the 100th anniversary of the creation of Virunga National Park in the Congo - originally called Albert National Park - in 1925, and of Volcanoes National Park Rwanda in 1927.
