Hot New Opening In The South West - TEALS

Scheduled to open in early November, TEALS is a brand new eco farm store offering locals - as well as holiday makers - a surprising and very special destination to stop off on the A303 in Somerset. Celebrating the region’s best producers, the new roadside destination store will comprise a colourful food market packed with sustainably sourced products from local suppliers.

LOYAL TO LOCAL

Visitors can discover fresh meats from nearby hills and locally churned cheeses (the country’s 3 top cheddar makers are within 5 miles). There will also be a bakery and a bottle store selling wine and local cider, as well as a nature-inspired kids play area and a gift store.A healthy kitchen will serve tasty and nutritious plates from across the region.

A spacious internal layout will enable shoppers to easily comply with social distancing measures. With eight electric car charging points, TEALS will also be the first low plastic, fuel-free services on the route. As well as responding to the growing demand for e-charging points, especially in this region, TEALS fills the need for appealing alternatives to the functional and often tedious stop-offs currently on offer. TEALS will bring life, vibrancy and a welcoming atmosphere, as well as original experiences, enriching each journey with a powerful sense of local.

GREEN VALUES

With a strong sustainability ethos and powered by renewable energy, TEALS is an agricultural build on a greenfield site next to an apple orchard. It uses reclaimed timber, minimises waste and trees were planted to help offset the build - it is also pending B Corp status.

It’s the mission of local co-founders Ash and Nick Sinfield to make a positive contribution to the region, connecting communities to producers, as well as travellers to the area. Nick says, “We feel a responsibility to open up a window to the region, to be ambassadors for brilliant local producers, operate purposefully and look after our guests like they are friends of friends. TEALS is our platform on which to promote amazing things created by brilliant people we love to celebrate.”

Situated halfway between London and Cornwall - at the North/South Cadbury junction - TEALS will prove popular for those travelling between the two regions, as well as the local community.  Plans for a series of similar roadside venues at busy locations across the UK are already underway.
