A Staycation Summer of Festivals

A summer of family festivals and events beckons, with the South West top of the list for many UK holidaymakers.  Those seeking a greener road trip, keen to discover a new foodie gem, and wanting to support an independent sustainable business, should ensure TEALS is in their Sat Nav (BA22 7FS).

Situated halfway between London and Cornwall, TEALS is an eco farm store and restaurant in Somerset, providing an exciting stop along the A303.  A destination experience in itself, TEALS stocks a carefully curated collection of fresh-name brands from the South West and beyond, most of which are small batch, family-run, artisan and with a strong ethical ethos.

5 REASONS TO STOP AT TEALS

  1. Pit Stop - break up your journey with a tasty breakfast or lunch from the healthy kitchen (or grab a snack to go); stretch your legs in the sunny apple orchard and take your four legged friend out on the ‘dog jog’ trail.
  2. Stock up on tasty treats - get holiday ready at the food market, which is packed with local suppliers; fresh meats from nearby hills and locally churned cheeses, salad from within a mile, a bakery and deli.
  3. Discover local ciders and craft beers - the Bottle Shop has a fantastic selection of mostly organic, low intervention and natural wines from smaller vineyards, as well as some magical local gins, vodkas, rums and even the odd English whiskey. There’s also premixed long drinks, low and alcohol free options.
  4. Pick up last minute camping essentials - the lifestyle store has a curated selection of outdoor items such as picnic ware, cool boxes reusable cups, crockery and beach blankets made for adventures.  Books and kids toys to keep everyone entertained in the car on your journey and gifts for your weekend hosts.
  5. Cool down with gelato - nothing says summer like ice cream, so if the mercury is rising, head to the Baboo Gelato truck. Each morish batch is made from scratch, using succulent fruit and local organic milk. PS It’s also lower in fat than traditional ice cream...win win!
