Staycation in Nature at Fritton Lake

Imagine a post lockdown escape being described as bold, spontaneous and inspired. All this and more can be said of a stay at Fritton Lake, a private holiday club set in one thousand acres of unspoilt, sustainable wildland.

Just a few hours from London but worlds away from the city, Fritton Lake offers a rejuvenating yet sustainable escape in Norfolk. Here you can elevate your endorphins with activities in nature and replenish with locally sourced, seasonal food. Accommodation is in beautiful woodland cabins, farm cottages and boutique hotel rooms in the 16th century Clubhouse.

On a typical day, you can wake with a wild lake swim, join a walking, water or jeep nature safari and forage for dinner. You can go trail running, get tennis match-fit, join a group yoga or fitness class, cycle, paddle board and sail, then join the onsite team to learn how to improve our natural ecosystem*.  Just imagine…. a place within reach that really allows you to reconnect; with yourself, your family, and with nature.

New for Spring / Summer 2021
In April, Fritton Lake will introduce a floating sauna on the lake, located on a pontoon so it can move around, as in Scandinavia. A new zip wire has also been added to the Children’s Area and an indoor playhouse is planned.

Connect & Be Part of A Greener Vision
Part of the Rewilding Britain network, Fritton Lake is at the forefront of WildEast, a bold initiative which aims to return 20% of the region’s land to nature. At the private holiday club, guests can be part of this greener vision of the future. Live amongst rich birdlife, free roaming Red and fallow deer, Highland cattle, water buffalo, pigs and Exmoor ponies, while learning about the importance of biodiversity on land and water safaris, walks and jeep tours. Ready for summer, fencing of the reserve means that animals such as beavers, storks, pelicans and European Bison can also be introduced.

Eat From the Land - Zero Miles Food Menu
At The Clubhouse, a seasonal menu features flavourful ingredients grown and bred on the land. Its award winning food has vegan and gluten free options, available to Fritton Lake guests as take away from 12 April and full service later in May, when you can sink into comfy sofas or soak up the views from the south facing terrace and garden. In addition to foraging tours, there’s wine tasting with local vineyards and cocktail classes.
