Product Experience: Mat inspired by Mother Nature

This clever mat is designed to impact your practice not the environment. Non-slip, super sustainable, hypoallergenic and chemical free - the Renew Mat is the healthiest yoga mat on the market. An essential for yoga lovers with an interest in sustainability, health and travel, this lightweight mat allows you to “ground” your practice as you stand on the bark of a cork tree. See our 7 reasons to love it below.

Retreat Experience - Rebuild, Reconnect and Restore

Designed to make deeper connections between community and the environment, reassess our values and behaviour, 'The Renewal' will take place in the world’s first cork hotel in Portugal. The Renewal is a cultural and wellness retreat designed around a collective experience, to provide a positive social and environmental impact. It takes place in Evora on 27 June - 3 July 2021.

  • Rebuild - and recalibrate in peaceful and natural surroundings. Explore the beautifully preserved cobblestoned streets, architectural and cultural sights of the historic World Heritage City
  • Reconnect - with nature on treks through the cork forests of Alentejo and make new friendships with inspiring people from around the world
  • Restore - with poolside and rooftop yoga, sound baths, and guided meditation led by industry experts. Workshops and immersive cultural experiences include Portuguese wine and olive oil tastings, and farm to table cooking with award winning culinary artists.

Hosted at the Tivoli Évora Ecoresort: energy efficient with strong environmental values, the eco hotel supports Corc Yoga’s sustainable ethos. Corc Yoga has the hotel on exclusive use for The Renewal, which aims to be a zero waste event.

Retreat prices start from €2,990 per person, based on two sharing a double suite for 6 nights on a full board basis. Price includes all daily wellness sessions, local cultural experiences and day trips and a Corc Yoga mat.

Instructors on the Retreat week include: Bryan Kest (@bryan_kest), Miri Miri Hussain (@hayatiyoga), Johanna Hellinger (@yoganalovethis), Paul Johnson, Tracy Jane Sullivan (@tracy_jan_harp) and Lorna Garcia (@logshea).

Founder-run by California-based Christine Moghadam, Corc Yoga is proud to donate a percentage of all sales to the Youth Mental Health Project in the U.S as well as Desafio Jovem in Portugal.

7 Amazing Reasons to Love your Corc Yoga Mat

  1. Non Slip Grip: Thanks to its honeycomb structure, cork is the ultimate anti-slip surface. In fact, your grip will actually improve the more you sweat
  2. Antimicrobial & Hypoallergenic: Naturally resistant to dust and bacteria, cork is an ideal material for those with allergies and asthma - and doesn’t need to be regularly cleaned
  3. Moisture Resistant: The naturally occurring Suberin wax found in the cell walls of cork tissue is impermeable to liquids and resistant to moisture, making for a more enjoyable practice and longer product lifetime
  4. Ultra Sustainable: We’re talking 100% recyclable, renewable and biodegradable. Supportive of diverse ecosystems, cork is harvested - without machinery - and then left to regrow for nine years. No trees are chopped down, thereby preserving the natural beauty of the cork forest - a win-win for farmers and the planet
  5. Lightweight, Flexible & Resilient: Cork can be compressed to half of its thickness without losing any flexibility. The perfect travel companion and space saver
  6. Naturally Flame-Retardant: Containing no PFRs to reduce flammability, cork naturally prevents the spread of flames and doesn’t release toxic gases through combustion
  7. Hormone & Chemical Free: An all-natural material, cork has no heavy metals or harsh hormone-disrupting chemicals like PVC. In fact, Corc is one of the few mats on the market that does not use rubber and only uses naturally occurring dyes to add a pop of colour
