NEW Free Cook-Along Classes for Families
Shake up your homeschooling schedule with a free live cook-along with the kids. School food charity Chefs in Schools is launching a series of free classes during lockdown, starting Wednesday 20 January.
Hosted by Chef Tom – Head Chef and Food Educator at the Hackney School of Food - the classes will be streamed live every Wednesday at 4pm. Each week Tom will teach a simple but useful recipe that budding chefs of any age and ability can try. The series opens with a lesson in making Root Veg Soda Bread, and while the dough rises Tom will demonstrate how to whip up some Homemade Butter and Cheat’s Buttermilk*.
Look forward to other tasty treats such as warming tomato soup, baked omelette and freshly baked pizza. During the 45 minute classes, kids (and adults) can ask questions and pick up tips. Younger chefs may need some supervision, but teens should be able to bake alone.
