A Modern Odyssey: Euphoria Retreat Announces June Dates for Transformational 'Odysseus Journey'
Coinciding with this summer’s cinematic revival of Homer’s The Odyssey, Euphoria Retreat has announced new dates for its immersive Odysseus Journey, taking place 2–7 June 2026, with a further group date to be announced for later in the year.
Set in the foothills of the Peloponnese overlooking the UNESCO World Heritage site of Mystras, the award-winning retreat provides a powerful setting for this deeply transformative programme. Inspired by the mythical voyage of Odysseus, the five-night experience invites guests to explore themes of resilience, identity, meaning and purpose - guiding them on a profound personal journey to discover their own Ithaca.
At its heart, the Odysseus Journey is designed to help guests uncover their personal purpose in life - the deeper “why” behind their existence and what they are here to accomplish. Through a fun, engaging and deeply reflective process, participants are invited to observe the passage of their life path, revisit pivotal life decisions and explore where those choices may be leading them.
Structured as a journey of self-discovery, the programme moves from awareness and reflection through to the release of emotional blocks and the cultivation of renewed clarity. Using Euphoria’s signature Five Elements methodology, which links emotional and behavioural patterns to the elements of water, wood, fire, earth and metal, guests gain a deeper understanding of their internal landscape, alongside practical tools to transform patterns that no longer serve them.
The experience is guided by Euphoria founder Marina Efraimoglou, whose vision for integrative wellbeing blends ancient Greek wisdom with contemporary healing, alongside Mary Vandorou, the retreat’s lead facilitator and therapeutic guide, who brings the psychological and experiential elements of the journey to life through expertly held group work.
A key part of the programme’s transformative power lies in its group format. Shared with like-minded individuals, the retreat creates a safe and inspiring space in which participants can witness themselves through others, gain new perspectives, laugh together, share openly and move through personal breakthroughs in a way that feels both supportive and joyfully human. The group dynamic often accelerates insight, helping guests recognise common patterns, dissolve feelings of isolation and experience the healing power of collective transformation.
Through drama therapy, improvisation, classical storytelling, dance therapy, breathwork and movement, the programme offers an unexpectedly playful route into deep self-awareness. Guests are encouraged to explore the stories they have been living, the beliefs shaping their decisions and the hidden blocks that may be limiting their possibilities.
Outdoor experiences including labyrinth meditation and guided forest walks encourage grounding and introspection, while a curated programme of approximately 15–16 restorative sessions and treatments enhances the journey. These include Five Elements balancing therapies, holistic bodywork and the retreat’s renowned Byzantine Hammam ritual, all designed to restore harmony across physical, emotional and energetic levels.
Designed for those seeking greater meaning, fulfilment and direction, the Odysseus Journey is particularly suited to individuals who want to overcome life blocks, discover their heart’s true desire, understand how past decisions may be shaping their future, and consciously change patterns that no longer serve them.
Above all, it is for those ready to reflect, laugh, share and transform joyfully.
As global interest in Greek mythology is reignited this summer, the Odysseus Journey offers a rare opportunity to step beyond the screen and into a lived experience - one that reflects Euphoria Retreat’s philosophy that true wellbeing is not about escape, but about returning to oneself with greater awareness, strength and purpose.
“Through the story of Odysseus, we invite guests to reflect on the choices shaping their lives and whether they are ready to embrace change. This journey is about movement, self-awareness and reconnecting with a clear sense of direction,” says Marina Efraimoglou.
The Odysseus Journey starts from €2,370 per person for the group retreat and €3,100 for a private programme. Accommodation is booked separately, with options ranging from bed and breakfast to full board.
