Daios Cove Elevates the Beach Holiday With Goal-Oriented Wellbeing & Immersive Cretan Experiences
Luxury Cretan resort Daios Cove - now open for the 2026 season - is transforming the traditional beach holiday into an experience-led escape. Alongside an expanded offering at the wellbeing hub Kēpos and completion of its high-end design The Collection suites, the resort is introducing “Around the Cove” – a hand-picked portfolio of the island’s most compelling experiences.
Daios Cove’s new Resort Manager, Kyrillos Chalkiadakis, joins at a pivotal moment for the resort, as it continues to evolve beyond the traditional beach holiday. “The definition of luxury is shifting,” he says. “It’s no longer just about where you stay, but how you feel when you leave.”
Under his direction, the focus sharpens on experiences with lasting impact, from goal-driven wellbeing to immersive, island-wide exploration. “We want guests to return home changed, not just rested,” he adds, pointing to a more intentional, experience-led approach that speaks to families, couples and multi-generational travellers alike.
Goal Oriented Wellbeing
At Kēpos, programmes are built around defined outcomes, whether that’s stress recovery, improved vitality or enhanced physical performance, combining advanced diagnostics with a more intuitive, holistic approach. Clinical tools such as epigenetics and skin health analysis sit alongside movement, nutrition and rest, creating a model that feels as results-driven as it is restorative.
Emphasis is on function as much as form: thermal circuits, hydrotherapy and recovery spaces are designed to support progression, not just relaxation. Partnerships with performance-led brands such as BXR London bring boxing, strength training and recovery into a retreat format. Two BXR Fitness Retreats are scheduled for 7–13 May 2026 and then again in October.
The 2026 programme reflects this duality of high-performance and deep restoration. One-day immersions such as Renewed Living and Urban Escape offer a reset for overstretched lifestyles, while Uncharted Fitness delivers a more intensive, training-led experience. Longer stays, including Advanced Longevity programmes, lean into preventative health, using hyperbaric oxygen therapy, IV infusions and epigenetic insight to address the effects of modern living. Meanwhile, Holistic Detox programmes take a slower, more internal approach, centred on gut health, ritual and recalibration.
Global Gastronomy & New Flavours
This season, Daios Cove celebrates its eighth Culinary Journeys series, a gastronomy adventure with Michelin-starred and award-winning chefs from around the globe. Also, new for 2026, refreshed Kēpos menus specific to each dining venue at the Cove focus on fresh, high-quality ingredients, designed for relaxed seaside dining. The cocktail offering, created in collaboration with Athens-based, award-winning mixologists The Clumsies, draws onCrete’s rich flora to deliver a distinctly local, sensory experience.
Beyond the Cove, guests are invited to engage with the island’s agricultural heritage through farm visits, wine tastings and hands-on cooking experiences.
Refined Living at The Collection
This season also marks the further enhancement of The Collection, with 36 new Premium Junior Suites bringing the total to 87. Each features expansive indoor-outdoor living and private seawater pools overlooking the Aegean, reinforcing the resort’s commitment to space, privacy and understated luxury.
‘Around The Cove” - A Gateway to Quintessential Experiences on Crete
Set on the island’s dramatic northeast coastline, Daios Cove is perfectly positioned as a launchpad for discovery. Their collection of immersive excursions are designed to reveal the island’s lesser known gems. On the water, private RIB boat journeys trace the cobalt coastline to hidden coves, fishing villages and the storied island of Spinalonga. Inland, curated routes wind through mountain passes and plateau landscapes, connecting guests to a slower rhythm of life.
This sense of place unfolds from coast to hinterland. Elounda and Plaka offer traditional tavernas and uninterrupted sea views, while Agios Nikolaos brings a livelier energy, centred around Lake Voulismeni. Further inland, villages such as Kritsa and Kroustas preserve enduring traditions, from olive oil production to local gastronomy, while Mochlos remains a quiet fishing enclave.
Curated encounters designed by Daios Cove also tap into Crete’s deep historical and mythological roots. Guests can explore the Palace of Knossos, centre of the ancient Minoan civilisation, or visit the Archaeological Museum of Heraklion, home to over 5,000 years of artefacts. Fortified monasteries such as Toplou and Byzantine churches like Panagia Kera offer stillness and centuries-old heritage.
For nature-led travellers, Crete’s raw beauty takes centre stage. The Samariá Gorge – one of Europe’s longest canyons – offers an unforgettable hiking experience through towering cliffs and protected biosphere landscapes, while the Katharo Plateau provides a quieter, high-altitude perspective of rural island life. Closer to Daios Cove, pristine beaches such as Voulisma and the secluded Xerokampos, balance accessibility with escape.
Whether diving in crystalline waters, hiking through olive groves, or windsurfing along the eastern coast, Daios Cove’s activity programme caters to every pace. For those seeking contrast, Santorini lies within easy reach – its volcanic landscapes offering a striking counterpoint to Crete’s grounded charm.
Daios Cove is open until 8 November 2026. Rooms start from 369euros per night per room in a Deluxe Sea View room on a half board basis. The Collection Junior Suite (with sea view) starts from 740euros per night including the all-inclusive Residents’ Club.
