SENSE Retreat at Broughton Sanctuary (10–14 October 2025)A Transformative Experience for Highly Sensitive People

The SENSE Retreat is a groundbreaking, four-night immersive experience for Highly Sensitive People (HSP). Taking place at Broughton Sanctuary in Yorkshire, it brings together sensitive souls, who experience their worlds deeply – perhaps also identifying as empaths, creatives, intuitives, neurodivergent, or simply as seekers of depth and authenticity, for a journey of restoration, exploration and personal empowerment.

As well as offering capacity for exploring deep intuition, creativity, empathy and perception, sensitivity often comes with challenges too – e.g., of being overwhelmed, misunderstood and sometimes experiencing internal shame too. The SENSE Retreat holds space for all of this and invites participants into self-acceptance and to embrace their innate gifts as talents for leadership, healing, and meaningful social change.

Designed by HSP for HSP, the retreat offers everything from restorative solitude to nourishing connection. Through a unique blend of science, somatics, philosophy, creativity and nature-based practices, the retreat provides space to embrace sensitivity, rather than something to manage or suppress. They will honour their stories, celebrate their sensitivity - and weave a little magic as they ‘sense the future together’ too.

Workshops, talks and creative experiences allow attendees to explore the deeper dimensions of their trait. Guests will cultivate self-understanding and emotional resilience, while unlocking the unique advantages of ‘vantage sensitivity’.

Attendees will also be invited to contribute to upbeat active research led by sensitivity experts and scholars, with the exciting opportunity to shape future thinking around wellbeing, sensory processing styles and guide both insight and innovation.

This is more than a retreat, it’s a catalyst. Participants will leave with a renewed sense of self, an expanded community, and a call to action to apply their sensitivity for personal and collective good.

Prices from £1,300 per person for four nights all inclusive. Visit www.broughtonsanctuary co.uk.

Interview Opportunity

Retreat facilitators Catherine Asta and Kirsty Allan are available for interviews, podcast guest spots, written Q&As, panel discussions, and op-eds in the lead-up to the October 2025 SENSE Retreat.

They can speak on:

  • Who are Highly Sensitive People (and how to tell if you are one)

  • How HSP fits within the narrative of identity and labels - from autism and ADHD to
    'empaths'; 'responsives'; 'creatives'; and 'intuitives'

  • How HSP can thrive in a fast-paced world, and embrace their qualities as tools for leadership, healing, and meaningful social change

  • The vision behind SENSE and the future of sensitivity

  • Why Broughton Sanctuary is a powerful setting for healing and insight and provides the ideal space for psycho-spiritual renewal

  • Why sensitivity is the missing piece in modern leadership and innovation. And what the sensitive processing style (whether ‘neurotypical’ or ‘neurodivergent’) can teach us about creativity, consciousness and collective growth

  • “Vantage Sensitivity”: what it is, and why it's a game changer

  • Creating truly inclusive mental health and wellbeing spaces

  • Behind the scenes of designing a retreat for HSP, by HSP
