Beckley Retreats New Retreat Dates and Ethics Report Launch

Following the success of its first psychedelic retreats in Europe last year, leading holistic wellbeing company, Beckley Retreats, announces its newest location Venwoude in the Netherlands, commits to championing ethics in the industry with a new report, and opens bookings for upcoming retreats.

A second location in the Netherlands

Joining Good Hope Villas in Jamaica and De Hoorneboeg Villas in the Netherlands, Beckley Retreat’s newest location - Venwoude. Located on a 40-acre estate in a nature sanctuary in the woods of Lage Vuursche, it’s 35 minutes from Amsterdam and 10 miles north of Utrecht. Venwoude is already a renowned and expanding retreat centre, having introduced the new training facility ‘Lariks’, a state-of-the-art building for large groups used for all Beckley Retreats. The centre focuses on sustainability, interconnectedness with nature, and meaningful growth.*

New Report - A commitment to ethics

In line with its transformative programmes, Beckley Retreats has launched a new Ethics Report which underlines its commitment to ethical practice. The report lays out a foundation for how psychedelic retreat providers can operate with ethics at the forefront, and calls for more ethics within the psychedelic retreats industry.

While the psychedelics industry is in its infancy, these compounds and practices have been used for millennia by Indigenous peoples. As we look to set the standards for industry best practices, we must look to modern science and ancient wisdom,” said Neil Markey, Co-founder, and CEO at Beckley Retreats. “We are committed to a process of engagement rooted in listening and discourse - collaborating with those who have been paving the way in the conversation around ethics and in close partnership with the communities where we operate. We hope that others will join us in working to these standards.”

In their recently published Ethics and Community Impact Report, Beckley presents six facets of ethics underpinned by the mindset of humility, a willingness to listen and learn, and nimble approaches that allow for an evolving paradigm to unfold.

These six facets include:

  • A regenerative business model
  • Diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging
  • The philosophy of patient care
  • Personal safety (Participants, Facilitators, Staff)
  • Facilitator engagement
  • Right relationship
