Introducing Norway's Leading Destination Spa

“It begins the very moment you step onto the wooded grounds. The lowering of your shoulders, the calming of your breath and the unwinding feeling as the qualms and worries of your everyday life are left behind. The Well is a deserved break from busy schedules and exhaustive days. We aim to give you a chance to slow down.”
André Julseth, General Manager

15 December 2022: IndigoEight is proud to introduce our latest client, The Well Spa & Hotel, offering Norway’s leading immersive wellbeing experience and the largest spa in Northern Europe. The Well is a destination in two parts – the spa which opened in 2015 and the 104-room hotel which opened in 2021. Surrounded by woodland, just a 20 minutes-drive from Oslo, the newer hotel division now enables guests to fully integrate a relaxing stay with the already well-established, exceptional facilities and globally rooted spa traditions.

Spacious, tranquil bedrooms, designed in a colour palette inspired by the surrounding forests, provide a safe-haven from which to dip into this adults-only modern health sanctuary. The first of its kind in Norway, The Well acts as both a day spa and a chic escape in which to rest, revive and reconnect. Indeed, the core intention of The Well perfectly aligns to the collective need of our time: to inspire people to cultivate good health, rebalance body and mind and leave everyday stresses behind so that they may reconnect with the depths of their own inner essence, that deep well of inner knowing and joy which is always inside us.

‍The Spa represents the epicenter, offering a plethora of international wellbeing experiences under one roof. Rooted in the great Greek spa traditions of ‘salus per aqua’ (health through water), extensive facilities include a Japanese bathhouse, a Middle Eastern Hamman, more than 11 pools, 15 different and exquisitely designed saunas and steams and ritualistic experiences such as ‘Rhassoul’, a cleansing body treatment using mineral rich clay to leave skin soft and smooth. These on-site integrated experiences are layered with an expertly delivered treatment menu which offers everything from Hot Stone Massages and Reflexology to Spirulina Wraps and Pro-Collagen Age-Defying Facials. There’s even an especially curated selection designed for pregnancy.

A well balanced, nutritious and decadent diet is an essential part of a stay at The Well. The ‘Mori’ restaurant, with its open-kitchen, delivers the ultimate in healthy Scandi-Asian cuisine, ideal for sharing and complete with vegan options plus four educated sake sommeliers. ‘Brasseriet’ offers more casual wholesome and relaxed indulgence: vegan burgers or fresh shrimps from Greenland perhaps, as well as the signature ‘The Well Juice’, a vibrant blend of ginger, carrot and apple. Meanwhile, The Library offers deliciously innovative cocktails crafted from locally sourced seasonal ingredients such as pumpkin and loganberry.

A world unto itself, The Well puts Norway firmly on the international spa scene. The need for sophisticated escapism, the rediscovery of joy and community as well as profound self-care can all be met through the integration of hotel and spa. A stay here is an opportunity to redirect your focus back onto yourself, giving your body and mind the opportunity to recharge and come back into balance. Without any of the deprivation of Europe’s more austere Medi-clinics, The Well offers exploration and rediscovery. It is a portal to remembering what living well really means.

NEED TO KNOW
Located close to Oslo airport and city centre, The Well is an ideal choice for a weekend break or retreat holiday from which you can also explore in and around the city, all year round. It is a unique proposition for individuals, couples, friends and even corporate groups. The hotel and spa are inspired by Nordic forests as well as international spa cultures and offer a British audience the opportunity to enjoy spa experiences from around the world in just one destination, only a short flight away. Winter is an ideal time to visit as you get to enjoy the warm saunas and pools combined with the refreshing outdoor beauty of wintertime in Scandinavia.

THE NAKED TRUTH
At The Well you are only allowed to wear swimwear in the pools, not in the saunas and steam rooms for hygienic reasons. If you wish, you can cover up in saunas and steam baths with a peshtemal or towel. Tuesdays are an exception when swimwear is mandatory for all these facilities.

SUSTAINABILITY TOUCHPOINTS
Sustainability is an important part of The Well’s philosophy.

  • All of the available roof space is covered with solar panels.
  • 70% of water is cleaned and used again in the facility. This meaning up to 50,000 liters of water are saved every day.
  • Water from the shower goes down the drain and is not reused - this is for strict hygiene reasons. The Well recovers the heat from this water, which provides a reduction of up to 100 kw per hour.
  • We have created a new swimwear collection made from 82% recycled material
  • We have our own 100% plant-based Café - Naturli' Wellness Lounge - which is both healthy and environmentally friendly.
  • The spa and building are heated using ground source heat.

COSTS
An overnight stay costs from £148 per night on bed and breakfast basis, including access to the spa facilities. Visit www.thewell.no
