Take an enchanting journey through the cosmos this winter with ‘Broughton By Night' - a brand new event series launching at Broughton Sanctuary in Yorkshire.
After a warming dinner around the campfire, marvel at deep sky wonders through powerful stargazing equipment and enjoy an educational sky tour with expert astronomer Chris Higgins from Lime Tree Observatory.
Running from mid November through to March 2024, these special Broughton By Night events are a chance to immerse in the magic of the night sky amidst a truly captivating landscape.
Nestled on the outskirts of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, an International Dark Sky Reserve, Broughton Sanctuary is committed to preserving the natural nighttime environment throughout its 3,000-acre nature recovery project. It is a must-visit destination for astronomy enthusiasts, novice stargazers and all those captivated by the beauty of the night sky.
Broughton By Night costs £36* per person with the option to add a ‘Broughton By Dusk’ wild swim and woodland sauna experience (from 3:30pm) for an additional £60*. 10% of all bookings are reinvested in Broughton Sanctuary's nature recovery programme.

3:30pm Dive into Nature's Bliss: Discover the thrill of wild swimming in natural waters, then rejuvenate in the woodland sauna, surrounded by trees.
5:30pm Nourishing Night Out: set the stage for an unforgettable night under the stars at the Fire Temple with a delectable two-course vegetarian meal around a campfire, including roasting marshmallows and a hot drink.
7:00pm Guided Stargazing: Expert astronomer Chris Higgins will lead an interpretive stargazing tour of the cosmos. Explore the mysteries of the moon, planets, nebulae, star clusters, the Milky Way, and constellations while enjoying the natural serenade of nocturnal creatures.
